The BESS will store excess renewable energy to supply to the electricity grid during peak demand periods, to support consistency of renewable energy supply. This means a cleaner, more reliable power grid for South Australians.

The BESS can send 100 megawatts of power into the electricity grid for up to two hours – enough to power about 16,000 South Australian homes each day.
